Singapore, 14th July 2022 – Scent by SIX has launched its fourth outlet in Singapore, at VivoCity mall, extending its presence throughout the island. Its other outlets are located at Bugis Junction, 313@somerset and Jem.
The new addition was opened soon after the homegrown fragrance brand was conferred the Singapore Promising Brand Award and Social Contribution Award 2020/2021, by the Singapore Prestige Brand Awards (SPBA).
Following the success of its recent scents, Sleep, Returns and Hikaru, Scent by SIX will be introducing a trio of scents, the Care Range. Created in collaboration with Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL), a portion of the sales proceeds will be donated to the organisation to enable them to continue providing training and support to caregivers of persons with mental health issues.
VivoCity Outlet - New Space, New Experiences
Located at a prominent spot at the basement of the bustling VivoCity mall, the new Scent by SIX outlet looks set to take the brand to greater heights. In alignment with its mission to use its scents to heal, soothe and delight one’s mental wellness, the petite 312 sq ft space emanate a calming vibe with its stucco walls of sandstone pink and rounded edges. Clara Yee shares the design inspiration: “The latest Scent by SIX outlet was designed with a nod to the tropical vibrancy of Singapore’s Southern Islands. Taking reference from the curved undulating silhouettes of Sentosa and Violin Islands, the plinth displays showcase the scent diffusers. A colourful centrepiece mural designed for this intimate space functions as an anchor of the surrounding displays, grounding it with vibrancy and positivity.” This is Clara’s third project for the brand having designed its flagship store at 313@somerset and Jem outlet.
New Trio of Scents – Created in Collaboration with Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL)
Infused with fragrance intelligence technology to influence positive emotions in the wearer, the new Care Range comprises of Care to Focus, Care to Relax and Care to Sleep Better. The scents were developed over several months in a series of workshops involving CAL’s caregiver volunteers, who drew from their personal experiences to help formulate the products.
“It was exciting for me to be able to be part of the creation process, and to learn that something as simple as a scent can have such a positive impact on my mental health”, said Vanessa Soon, who cares for a friend, and was of the caregivers involved in the process.
An advocate of mental wellness, Founder of Scent by SIX, Jason Lee aims to create awareness of caregivers’ needs with this initiative, a collaboration with Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL), a non-profit organisation. “We would like to support CAL by shining the spotlight on caregivers. Caring for a loved one or a friend with a mental health issue demands a lot from the caregiver. CAL provides support and resources to help caregivers cope with their situation and to prevent burnout, which may otherwise lead to mental health issues if left unaddressed,” he says. It was in his capacity as a grassroots volunteer at Bukit Batok division with Member of Parliament, Mr. Murali Pillay, that Jason was introduced to Mr.Tim Lee, Chief Executive Officer of Caregivers Alliance Limited.
“CAL is delighted to co-create this trio of scents with Scent By SIX. Caring for someone with a mental health issue can be a long, arduous journey that often takes a toll on the caregiver’s own well-being. Our mission is to help make their burden easier to bear, by providing the right tools, knowledge and support. With the Care range, we hope to harness the power of scent to bring mental and emotional health benefits to caregivers - and anyone for that matter – because who doesn’t need a little help to Sleep, Relax and Focus better?” says Mr. Tim Lee, Chief Executive Officer of the Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL).

About Scent by SIX / The Journey
Since its inception in July 2016, Scent by SIX has been making strides within the scenting industry with an expanding collection of fine fragrances, DIY scent kits, and a home scenting range. The Singapore-based fragrance brand has created ambient scenting and bespoke labels, and conducted scent workshops for luxury brand names such as Piaget, Lexus and Ritz Carlton. It has also customised scents for renowned local brands such as Eu Yan Sang and Singapore Airlines. On the B2C front, Scent by SIX has expanded its presence over the years with four outlets at Bugis Junction, 313@somerset, Jem and VivoCity.
In 2019, in response to the Covid-19 outbreak and the mental toll it has taken on everyone, Scent by SIX found its new mission – to use its scents to heal, soothe and delight one’s mental wellness. With the shift to working from home, the team created the Awakening home diffuser collection, to uplift the spirits, with ten percent of its sales proceeds donated to the Courage Fund by Community Chest. And to raise awareness on mental health issues, the brand partnered with the Singapore Association for Mental Health (SAMH) to create the Hikaru scent collection, which was infused with scent technology to delight the senses. The ongoing donation has raised S$20,000 to date. A second scent, Sleep, Returns, similarly raises funds to support the cause.
For its hard work and passion in creating quality products, Scent by SIX was recognised under Singapore’s Made with Passion initiative in July last year. And in February 2022, Scent by SIX was conferred the Promising Brand award as well as the Social Contribution Award by the Singapore Prestige Brand Award (SPBA 2020/2021).
