29 December 2022, Singapore -- Caregivers Alliance Limited (CAL) is pleased to announce the appointment of Jennifer Fan as Chairman of its Board of Directors.
Officially taking over the reins on 1 Jan 2023 from outgoing Chairman Chew Sutat, Jennifer is no stranger to CAL, having served on the Board since 2017, most recently as Vice-Chairman. She first started volunteering with CAL in 2013, and over the years has actively contributed to CAL’s advocacy and fundraising efforts.
Jennifer said, “As a caregiver myself, CAL’s mission is something I hold very close to my heart. I feel privileged to be offered the opportunity to continue the wonderful work that Sutat and the team have done, and look forward to bringing CAL’s work within the caregiver community to new heights.”
“Having served as Chairman since 2015, the time is right for a change”, said Sutat. “I cannot think of a better candidate as Jennifer’s broad professional and personal lived experience as a caregiver puts her in an excellent position. Highly empathetic to the community that CAL serves, she will no doubt build on CAL’s strengths and advance the organisation’s long term mission to uncover and empower caregivers.”
Jennifer is Chief Asia Officer at Freemont Capital, where her responsibilities include leading the firm’s executive management and investment activities across public markets, private equity and hedge fund programs in Asia. She also sits on the board of Resilience Collective, a mental health charity that aims to equip persons in recovery with strategies and coping mechanisms through peer support initiatives which see peers supporting each other in their recovery journeys.
CAL takes this opportunity to thank Sutat for his invaluable contributions and commitment, and for his guidance and stewardship of the CAL Board over the last seven years. He has played an instrumental role in the organisation’s growth and progress as it added a host of programmes and services designed to meet caregiver needs. Under his leadership, CAL was awarded the Charity Governance Award in 2019 and the President’s Volunteerism & Philanthropy Award in 2021. He has also leveraged his extensive network of contacts to be a champion fundraiser for the organisation.
