To date, CAL has had a steady stream of activities in partnership with Chinatown Heritage Centre. Starting with Those Were The Days in October 2018, caregivers have been using Chinatown Heritage Centre and its Oasis Room as a place of respite away from the worries of caregiving at home, through various engagement activities such as origami classes. On 26 January, CAL will celebrate its collaboration with Chinatown Heritage Centre at event ‘Bloom’. With a nod to the Singapore Bicentennial, the event will showcase flowers in bloom as its theme. Save the date and come and join us to celebrate how caregivers supporting each other can result in a bloom of hope and optimism.
In conjunction with students from Nanyang Polytechnic (NYP), Bloom will feature therapeutic activities for caregivers including:
Reminiscence activities (Featuring role-playing performances by student volunteers)
Play activities (Water-play boat races and childhood games)
Baking (Fun with dough and resilience biscuits) [Choose time slot here]
Paper art (Origami workshop featuring beautiful paper orchids and other flowers) [Choose time slot here]
Ms Glacy Soh, an accomplished artist, will also be featuring her artwork. In line with the theme, she will display a collection of her orchid paintings at the event.
