Our support services are for you – find us at our dedicated Caregivers Support Centre at the Institute of Mental Health or through our Support Groups. We invite you to participate in our free one day training seminars and consider signing up for a full caregivers training and support programme. You will find that there are many others who share your struggles and experiences. We hope you will take heart from our success stories.

8-Oct-2016 “Stamp Out Stigma” Walk

On 8th October, over 1,200 Singaporeans participated in “Walk with Us, Stamp out Stigma” along Orchard Road. The mass walk was co-organised by 15 key community mental health partners to raise awareness of the importance of mental health on personal well-being and to combat stigma towards people with mental health conditions. CAL participated in the walk and hosted a booth at the carnival.

9-May-2016 Public Talk “Stress & Caregiver Burden” 6.30 to 8 PM

Amidst growing awareness of mental health issues, caregivers often experience unrelenting stress and related health challenges in their continuing support for their loved ones with mental illness. Such unseen burdens come at a cost to workplace productivity that may not be on the radar for many businesses, and perhaps even for caregivers themselves. Through this talk, participants will gain new found awareness of their care-giving burdens and be encouraged to know there are skills they can learn to empower them in their care-giving journeys.

9-April-2016  “Stand Up Against Stigma :: Let’s Talk Mental Health” 2 – 5 PM

Dr. Ang Yong Guan talked about the problem of stigma in mental illness to advocate for this group of individuals. This talk is targeted at caregivers, persons in recovery from mental illness and the general public who have an interest in understanding the issue of stigma surrounding mental health.
